உத்தரகண்ட் நிலச்சரிவு பெருவெள்ளத்தில் சிக்கியுள்ள மக்களை விரைந்து மீட்க வேண்டும்! உத்தரகண்ட் மாநிலம், உத்தரகாசி மாவட்டத்தில், அமைந்துள்ள தாராலி கிராமத்தில் மேக வெடிப்புக் காரணமாக ஏற்பட்ட திடீர் நிலச்சரிவு மற்றும் பெருவெள்ளம் காரணமாக, மக்களின் குடியிருப்பு பகுதிகள் முழுவதுமாக அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டு பலர் உயிரிழந்துள்ள பெருந்துயர நிகழ்வு பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியும், மிகுந்த மனவேதனையையும் அளிக்கிறது. மீட்புப் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்த இராணுவ வீரர்கள் உட்பட மேலும் பலர் பெருவெள்ளத்தில் சிக்கிக் காணாமல் போயுள்ள செய்தி சொல்லொணா துயரத்தைத் தருகின்றது. உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு என்னுடைய ஆறுதலைத் தெரிவித்து, துயரில் பங்கெடுக்கின்றேன். தாராலி கிராமத்திற்கு அருகில் உத்தரகாசி - ஹர்ஷில் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலை அமைப்பதற்காக அப்பகுதியிலிருந்த 10000 தேவதாரு மரங்களை (ஊசியிலை மரங்கள்) அரசு வெட்டியதே பேரழிவை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ள நிலச்சரிவு ஏற்பட முதன்மைக் காரணமெனக் கூறப்படுகிறது. வளர்ச்சி, முன்னேற்றம் என்ற பெயரில் நம்முடைய பாதுகாப்பு அரண்களாக விளங்கும் மலைகள், காடுகள், மரங்கள், நீர் வழிப்பாதைகள் உள்ளிட்ட இயற்கை வளங்களை அழிப்பது எத்தகைய பேராபத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது என்பதை, இனியாவது நாட்டை ஆளும் ஆட்சியாளர்கள் உணர வேண்டும். மக்கள் வசதியாக வாழ்வதைக் காட்டிலும் பாதுகாப்பாக வாழ்வது மிக முக்கியம். மக்கள் வாழத்தகுதியற்ற இடமாக மாறவிட்ட பிறகு, மரங்களை வெட்டி, கோடிகளைக் கொட்டி அமைத்த நெடுஞ்சாலையால் யாருக்கு என்ன பயன்? என்ற கேள்விக்கு எவரிடத்தில் பதிலுண்டு? ஆகவே, இனி வரும் காலங்களில் உயிர்கள் வாழ உகந்த நிலமாக நாம் வாழும் பூமியை அடுத்த தலைமுறையிடம் கையளிப்பதுதான் ஆகச்சிறந்த வளர்ச்சி என்பதை உணர்ந்து, தொழில் வளர்ச்சி, நாட்டின் முன்னேற்றம் என்ற பெயரில் இயற்கை வளங்களை அழித்தொழிப்பதை இனியாவது ஒன்றிய-மாநில அரசுகள் கைவிட வேண்டுமென வலியுறுத்துகிறேன். உத்தரகாசி மலைச்சரிவு – பெருவெள்ளப் பேரழிவில் சிக்கியுள்ள மக்களைக் காக்க மீட்புப்பணிகளை விரைவுபடுத்த வேண்டுமெனக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். - செந்தமிழன் சீமான் தலைமை ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் நாம் தமிழர் கட்சி Rescue the People Trapped in the Uttarakhand Landslide and Flood Disaster Immediately! The sudden landslide and massive floods caused by a cloudburst in Tharali village, located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, have completely swept away residential areas, resulting in a tragic loss of lives. This devastating incident has deeply shocked and saddened me. The news that many, including army personnel involved in rescue operations, are missing in the flood adds to the unbearable grief. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and share in their sorrow. It is being reported that the felling of 10,000 deodar trees (pine species) near Tharali village for the construction of the Uttarkashi–Harsil national highway is the primary reason behind this catastrophic landslide. In the name of development and progress, the destruction of our natural defenses — mountains, forests, trees, and waterways — is leading to grave disasters. It is high time the ruling authorities of this country realized the irreversible damage this causes. More than living comfortably, it is crucial that people live safely. After turning a place uninhabitable for people, what use is a highway built by felling forests and spending crores of rupees? Who can truly answer this question? Therefore, I strongly urge both the Union and State governments to abandon their practice of destroying natural resources in the name of industrial growth and national progress. True development lies in preserving the earth as a livable space for future generations. I appeal for immediate acceleration of rescue operations to save those who are still trapped in the Uttarkashi landslide and flood disaster.
