He is the GM of SWR. He won’t be out of pocket by this strike nor will SWR be either. I’m and will be out of pocket as will thousands of other commuters due this strike.
Management of @SW_Railway must be held to account for this debacle. Pretty obvious to anyone who uses trains that guards’ role as operators of doors is necessary. To blame guards for strike is wrong. Good management leads to good industrial relations @SW_Help@swtrains_watch
SWR has found another way to frustrate the Delay Repay claims process by requiring manual entry of journey details on a recognised route (as shown on @nationalrailenq). Strangely, only options listed have longer journey times. Coincidence @railandroad ? #delaywontpay#trainpain
We want to make clear that we do not hold customers needing extra help to board our trains responsible for any delay.
We’re very sorry that a tweet was sent yesterday about a delay to one of our trains, that said this was the case.
Just heard SWR has not (or has been unable to) pay the agency which supplies a large number of gateline staff. Apparently a very large number of station barriers open and unmanned. @swtrains_watch
@GroupSwr SWR should lose their franchise - they have been awful since they started - Fire them all and start again - all the money we pour into their coffers so their fat cats can earn fortunes. A NATIONAL DISGRACE @SW_Railway@SW_Help@transportgovuk
Management & MPs have ignored the need for real reform for years. Only mass disruption gets their attention because they worry about negative press. So I don't see a lot of options except the strike, terrible as it is for us.
It’s making a point to #SouthWesternRailway that their roles are sorely needed. Let’s stand united (albeit squashed against the faulty train-toilet door) with them in hopes that more #SWR profits start being used for the *right* things.
The timetable is significantly more reduced for me too this time around. I am going to have to leave home before 6am on Thursday to get to work. So much for considering the safety of passengers.
good luck to everyone trying to commute from Woking to Waterloo next morning peak. Ridiculously reduced timetable all week. Total joke. @SW_Railway@SW_Help@transportgovuk
That looks promising - but this is not made clear on the SWR website - why? Also last time I claimed for this in November disruption, they rejected my claim for a refund stating that because I have a season ticket they expect that I won’t travel from time to time -nonsense reason
@SW_Help reassurances you are meeting unions for meaningful discussions to avoid this? You're halving the trains on Sal-Wat route, one of the heaviest commuter lines. Will be chaos. @swr_hell@GroupSwr@railandroad@Rail_Complainer
