This is interesting- haven’t received it online - just in person in #glasgow and #birnam - all alleged of course at the moment. Evidence is difficult to present - but am getting there… 🙏🏻 to @PoliceScotland and @VSScotland and @AWhistleblowing 🏷 @BPSOfficial @reneebleau

Ethnomethodological (not straightforwardly sociological at all!) - arguably more discursive social psychology than anything (imho). 🏷 ⁦@socialpsychUK⁩ “The Degradation Ceremony: A Theory of Workplace Bullying | Psychology Today” psychologytoday.com/us/blog/…

Is it just me who reads popular books "by psychologists" and thinks they all sound more or less the same in their chatty, friendly, gee-whiz-meets-kumbaya style? I wonder how many of them are almost entirely ghostwritten?

I have resigned from @uniofleicester. I was not at risk of redundancy. I have not been through the awful process that our colleagues had to endure, but I have experienced more than a glimpse of the lack of care, lack of interest, lack of human touch and lack of intellectualism

IMO, the problem with saying the brain "is a computer" is the same as with saying I "am a runner". I sometimes run (if someone has hit a ball). It's one thing I do. But it's a misleading label as an identity relation.

We keep needing to make sense of the world - not castigate those who choose with their hearts and minds
I see @BPSSexualities has become the focus of trolls overnight. Including accusing the Section of 'supporting sterilising children', simply for calling for humanising media reporting of trans issues. I've never seen anything like it. Show your support this #PrideMonth
Such erudition from a wonderful #philosopher IMHO 🥸

I find it fascinating how many scientists, who would usually gravitate towards the most parsimonious explanation for any phenomenon, are prepared to accept the most tortuous sequence of multiple unlikely events when the alternative explanation is fraud.
