After concerns over large-scale voter roll revisions in West Bengal, Telangana now faces the prospect of nearly 30 lakh voters being deleted from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, according to reports. With Hyderabad showing relatively low voter mapping percentages due to migration and multiple voter IDs, millions of citizens could find themselves caught in a bureaucratic maze. A healthy democracy demands clean voter rolls, but it also demands that not a single eligible voter is disenfranchised.
