When I told my mum and aunties about what's happening, they said:
"But they won't listen to us."
Thank you for highlighting the disproportionate impact of LTNs on ethnic communities & the lack of consultation w/them.
@BillParryDavies and legal team @horrendoushack1
You are advocating a scheme that adversely affects the already worse off.
Now you’re asking the inflicted ones to come up with a solution.
Doesn’t that amount to victim blaming?
At @horrendoushack1 protest - Diane, who lives in St Peter’s LTN, Islington, couldn’t get people to come to assist her in lockdown has waited 7 months for council reply about suspension of disabled bus
She says Meals on Wheels essential workers’ commutes also impacted
No! It’s a through road
I’m not against isolated closures. What I’m against is inequitable, widespread restrictions designed to arbitrarily force ALL traffic-local or otherwise-onto main roads where people live, work, go to school and wait for buses
That’s why I am protesting.
