Podcast: Should We End Government Science Funding? A Friendly Debate / American Council on Science and Health
Nobody denies that science is plagued by an epidemic of fraudulent and politicized research, nor that it wastes billions of taxpayer dollars. But is the problem severe enough to justify completely eliminating public funding for scientific research? Host @camjenglish and co-host #DrChuckDinerstein take a closer look.

Science Subsidy Trap: Why Public Research Funding Needs to End / American Council on Science and Health
The U.S. government spends over $160 billion annually on scientific research. This massive expense is marketed to taxpayers as an investment in groundbreaking research that fuels innovation and discovery. In truth, much of the federal science budget is expended on questionable and even fraudulent research. I'm a layperson, but experts such as @SamGandy @SuzanneESchind1 @jasonkarlawish @beyoung40 @JH_Memory_Aging @MichaelSesma @KentSmalley may have helpful responses. I imagine assessment results would be compromised if the person isn't 100% sober. ninds.nih.gov/health-informa…

All N terminal Abeta antibodies that made it to P2/3 substantially increased Abeta42, 40 & were nominally associated with relatively better rating scales. You can also wrest P’s <.05 from these. So the hypothesis has been validated, no? Lecanemab good, no? Asking for a friend.
